Creating a monthly budget can seem like a daunting process. Many of us put off budgeting because we are afraid to see our finances brought to light. Luckily, there are ways to make apartment living easy with an affordable monthly budget. Here are a few ways you can create your budget.

Start by figuring out your income. Look at pay stubs, bank transactions or whatever it is that helps you see what you average in a week. Be thorough, as the number you figure out here is important in planning the rest of your budget.

List your fixed spending. Each month you have a certain amount of bills that do not change. This includes your rent, as well as fixed utilities like cable and internet, and other monthly charges to your card or bank. Make a list of all these to begin.

Deduct all of your fixed spending from your income. Then, consider any other monthly expenditures you might have. Do you buy coffee every day? Deduct it from the number. Soon, you’ll see how much money you have leftover each month.

Are you addicted to using Instagram to touch up and share your favorite photos? With the filters, effects and frames you can add to a simple photo, we can definitely see why this photo sharing website is so popular. Why not turn your Instagram photos into wall art for your apartment? Here are the steps for this easy DIY project.

Materials:

  • Your Photos
  • Painters Tape
  • Ruler

Steps:

  • Use the painters tape to create a level base, measuring from each end to the floor to make sure it is level. You can even create a grid to make sure there is an equal amount of space between each photo. The painters tape allows you to keep your photos even without damaging the wall.
  • You can mount the photos to the wall by using the painters tape. All you need to do is place a rolled up piece of tape to each back corner of the photo and attach it to the wall.
  • If you are planning to add additional rows to your gallery, repeat steps one and two for each row.
  • When you are finished creating your gallery, you can remove the painters tape used for the level base. Be careful so you do not damage any of the photos.

If you do not want to attach the photos to the wall itself, a large board or frame will make a great alternative. Keep in mind that you do not have to limit your gallery to only your Instagram photos.

If you just got a new puppy in your apartment, there are things you should have for them. It’ll make both of your lives much happier. Here are five things to do for your puppy to have a good experience with your pet in Irvine:

  • Have plenty of fun toys on-hand for your puppy. This will keep your puppy from using your couch as a chewing toy.
  • Save yourself the nightmare of having trash strewed everywhere. Dog-proof your garbage in each room by putting garbage cans with butterfly doors in them.
  • Get a faux fur throw for your dog to lay on. This throw will protect your furniture, and it’ll give your puppy a heavenly place to sleep.
  • Keep a caddy near your sink filled with clean-up bags, towels, dry shampoo and anything that will keep your puppy looking great.
  • Place your dog’s food and water bowls in a convenient area where it can’t be kicked over.
